How to Join the Adventure..........

At Fynn Valley Explorers we are able to provide Scouting for any boys or girls aged 14 to 18 years old.

And We Need More Adults In Scouting......

At Fynn Valley Explorers (along with thousands of other Scout Groups) we desperately need more adults to join as Uniformed or non-Uniformed members so that we can keep providing Scouting for younger generations. There is a National waiting list of 30,000 young people wanting to join Scouting but are unable due to the lack of adult helpers and Leaders.

History of Fynn Valley Explorers

The Fynn Valley Explorer Unit evolved originally out of the Senior Section of Grundisburgh Scouts in November 2000. Later their name was changed to 1st Grundisburgh Explorer Unit and in 2005 the Explorer Unit started to accept Scouts from 1st Otley, 1st Westerfield and 1st Woodbridge Scout Groups, changing its name again to what it is today.

Our current Explorers are from a wide background of Scouting from villages and towns, but we also draw in Scouts from as far as Framlingham, Earl Soham, Debenham and Ipswich.

Our Scarf is very unique as it has 4 colours - Scarlet, Gold, Purple and Sky Blue and this represents a different colour from each of the feeder Scout Groups.

Fynn Valley Explorer Unit is within the Deben District – an area which covers Scouting from Kesgrave to Framlingham and Leiston to Woodbridge, of which there is 5 other Explorer Units.

We meet once a week on a Thursday evening and have a varied programme which may involve some typical Scouting activities such as Archery, Ice Skating, Pioneering, Campfires, Hiking, Cooking, Go-Karting, Air Rifle Shooting, Swimming, Working towards Badges and the Duke of Edinburgh Award, Wide Games and lots of Camps every year!

So please have a look at our current programme and at our past events in the Photo Gallery.
